Makeup of the Day – ELES Spring Collection 2013
I thought I’d kick off this new topic with a line I’m very familiar with; ELES Cosmetics (in case you don’t know ELES is my own brand).
The look I’ve created for today is from the Spring Collection 60’s Vibe. Probably looking more like 60 than from the 60’s and I’ve stayed true to my usual form and just swept one colour from the shadow pallet across the lid and used the darker shade on the lash line and in the crease. With heavy lids like mine it seems to be the best way, however this is the kind of palette that makes me wish I had beautiful defined eye contours so I could go to town on all the shades.
These shades have subtle shimmer, not too much to emphasise less than taut skin, yet enough to create some dimension and colour variation on the lid so we don’t have to! The end effect is a soft plumby/minky colour that alternates in different light.
Teamed with the peachy blush and nude lips this is definitely a look that can be adapted from day to night.
Finish with lashings of mascara and a defined brow and you’ll be very on-trend for the Australian Spring.
The final look…yes a little bit startled but you get the idea…to get the full sixties vibe a heavy winged eyeliner would complete the look, a little too much for the day I thought!
What I used in order of application:
ELES DEBUTANTE EYE QUAD – Second darkest shade all over the lid and blended up then a light sweep under the bottom lashes and then the darkest shade push lined along the top lash line.
ELES LUSH MASCARA – Black
ELES MINERAL BLUSH – Coral Sun
ELES LIPSTICK – Micro Nude
Let me know if there are any other looks you’d like to see!
